David W. Leslie joined the AMTA February 2, 2009 as a LIFETIME member. David was actually the 159th member to join the Airborne Maintenance Technician Association.  David has not missed a reunion and has always been a great helper in organizing and cleaning up after a reunion.  David is a team player and will do whatever is necessary to get the job done. When asked to run for the AMTA board of directors he said he would be honored. David was elected as AMTA President for two years based on his willingness to help and work for the AMTA.

John Hurst was one of the original founders of the Airborne Maintenance Technician Association, served as first Vice-President, and as second AMTA President.  John is a very strong supporter of the AMTA and recently came out of retirement to run for the AMTA board of directors again to ensure the AMTA would continue for more years. John has served as the AMTA service officer since the inception of the AMTA, and has helped many veterans to apply for disability claims.

Johnnie T. Estes is one of the original founders of the Airborne Maintenance Technician Association, and has been a part of the AMTA since day one. He served as AMTA President from October 20, 2005 until October 3, 2019. Very close to 14 years as president and over 15 years served as a director on the AMTA Board of Directors.

Johnnie was listed as the first AMT on the AMTA roster. This was based totally on the fact his name was alphabetically first, as six other AMTs were founders and everyone did their share to ensure a solid association was founded and we were able to have our first reunion in September 2004.

Bill Wilson is ONE OF THE ORIGINAL FOUNDERS and if you have never worked with this man you are missing out.  Bill is just one of us, an AMT, but during the incorporation of the AMTA he filled the shoes of many people including being our legal representative as no lawyers were hired.  Bill is presently an AMTA director but each and everyone of the AMTA board members turn to him for advice.  He has always been a strong supporter of the AMTA.

Larry is still working and still lives in the cold in Papillion, Nebraska.  Larry has always been heavily involved in the AMTA and has helped with organizing many aspects of the reunions held in his area.

Mike McLaughlin is an AMTA LIFETIME CHARTER MEMBER and has served on the AMTA Board of Directors and has been the AMTA Secretary January 3, 2005.  He not only performs the duties of the secretary but is also the back up for the AMTA Treasurer.  Mike takes every job very seriously and he has always been right there to ensure we always dot the "Is" and cross the "Ts".

Mike was not a founder of the AMTA but has been a strong supporter since day one (June 2004).  His work and generosity toward the AMTA has saved a lot of money and has helped the AMTA to keep funds on hand to help others in need.  Due to health reasons Mike has had to step down from serving on the AMTA board.  He will be thoroughly missed. Mike continues to be willing to help as long as he is physically able to do so.
